Another reason to celebrate! Just what we need. I really didn't do a very good job of showing the love of my life a very special day ( Sorry Tirzah). Pam and I spent our day riding bikes along the Mississippi, on the Ponchatrain levee trail. The levee is only a quarter mile from our campsite, and there is a long bike trail on top. When you stand on it, you can see with the naked eye that the elevation of the river is higher than the campground we are in. We saw a bald eagle flying overhead, and were amazed at the amount of boat activity on the river. I mean BIG boats. We saw huge grain exporting places that smelled like popcorn, and natural gas pipelines to load on the river, and lots of other industries. We put in about twenty miles, and just had a nice quiet day. Pam cooked spaghetti, and we stayed in, traded valentine cards, and acted our age.

Riding on the levee, looking out at the mighty Mississippi! |

The grain silos and their conveyor belts ran right over our heads and loaded the boats. |
