St. Patricks Day in Tuscon. March 15

Actually it was the Saturday before St Pats Day, which is Monday. We went into town to see the parade, which lasted over an hour, without one, single, high school band, but there were two bagpipe bands. There was also a one mile run before the parade, which was won in a very quick, 4:24, which earned the winner $75.00. After the parade we spent the entire afternoon at a festival listening to Irish music, watching Irish dancers, eating, drinking, and people watching.

Everyone dresses up for the parade, including this little guy!

This is a Mexican snack food

Here comes the parade!

Scottish pipe band for St Patrick's Day????

It is the Tucson Fire Department Pipe and Drums - they were excellent!

No this isn't a pony, it's a DOG!

This is part of a winning float that is all family....

and every single child down to the babies had stenciled in beards and eyebrows!

WWII veteran!

Even St Patrick showed up for the parade!

This way you pedal your way down the route and drink at the same time!
